While in-flight amenities, service and entertainment available in Business Class are often comparable across airline carriers, the type of seat offered can vary significantly. Business Class seats can be categorized by one of the following descriptions: The new, highly-adjustable, lie-flat business class seat on board the Boeing B767-300 and Boeing B777 allows passengers to customize the setting to their personal preference. The business class seats offer a lie-flat position; a bed length of 77 inches; a seat width of 20 inches that can be extended to 23 inches by raising the privacy divider and dropping down the outer armrest. Passengers can individually adjust any component of the seat, including the seat bottom, seat back, leg extension and leg rest, resulting in infinite flexibility of seat positions. They can select one of the convenient preset positions to sit up, recline or lie flat and then further fine-tune the comfort settings to suit their individual preferences. The seat features a memory setting so that business class passengers can easily return to a favorite seat position throughout a flight. Powerports located in the seatback are convenient and easier to access than powerports traditionally located on the floor or under the seat. |

The new transatlantic menus offer a taste of home and a taste of adventure. In order to enhance your experience on the flights between the U.S. and Europe, new menus are offered in Business Class. The new menus incorporate appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts that reflect distinctively European and American tastes. You can already find the new menus featuring menu items created from European ingredients and recipes on flights from Europe to the United States. U.S. flights bound for Europe feature typically American cuisine. When traveling in Premium Class between the U.S. and Japan, you have the option to pre-order Japanese-style entrees prior to your flight. The new pre-order option is free and must be placed a minimum of 24 hours in advance of flight departure. |
On Board Entertainment

American’s Next Generation In-flight Theater on Boeing B767-300 and selected Boeing B777 international flights features a portable entertainment device with a 10.6-inch monitor allowing passengers to view it hands-free in the seat back or remove it and place the unit in the best location given their chosen seat position. Customers also receive Bose® QuietComfort® 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones to complete their audio or video sound experience. The system offers up to 14 feature films, 10 hours of pre-loaded television and news programs, 50 music CDs, 15 music videos and a variety of games. Inflight entertainment language options vary by market and aircraft and can include English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. Inflight Internet: American Airlines customers traveling on Boeing 767-200 aircraft can access the inflight internet on nonstop flights between New York and San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles, and New York and Miami. Aircell’s inflight internet (Gogo) will be available to customers as a fee-based service in all cabins. Aircell will charge $12.95 on flights more than three hours, which include American’s Boeing 767-200 flights. Each paid Gogo session includes full Internet access. Cell phone and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) services are not available.
